Mark Besonen works with Invariant’s defense, appropriations, and homeland security clients. He produces research and analysis on topics ranging from appropriations and the Department of Defense’s modernization priorities to federal oversight of emerging technologies.

Most recently, Mark served on Sen. David Perdue’s (R-GA) national security team, which included work with the Senate Armed Services Committee. Prior to that, Mark worked for Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-VA), and he was a policy fellow for the Aerospace Industries Association and General Electric.

Mark holds a master’s degree from the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs and graduated from Concordia College.
