SUSAN LAGANA

Susan Lagana is a communications strategist and attorney with more than 20 years of experience in politics, policy, and public affairs. She helps companies succeed amid complex policy, litigation, and reputation issues. Susan specializes in crisis and litigation communications, as well as strategic communications around leadership transitions, congressional investigations, transportation policy, regulation of emerging technologies, and antitrust.
Susan joins Invariant from Brunswick Group, where she helped clients navigate the intersection of policymaking, media relations, and public opinion in political capitals worldwide. In this role, Susan supported large-scale mergers in transportation and technology industries, advising on antitrust regulatory issues.
She previously led the Department of Transportation’s public affairs department, serving as director of public affairs for the Office of the Secretary. She also supervised the implementation of the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act of 2015. At the Department of Defense, Susan served as strategic communications counsel to the Navy Secretary.
Susan received her law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her undergraduate degree from Georgia Tech.
