CLAUDE H. CHAFIN

National security communications expert Claude H. Chafin translates complex issues into concise, actionable information for policymakers, thought leaders, and the public. Claude leverages nearly two decades of experience working with Republican policymakers to advise Invariant’s defense and national security clients on strategies and messages to drive solutions in Washington.
Claude joined Invariant after serving as the majority and minority communications director for the House Armed Services Committee. Prior to the Armed Services Committee, Claude served as communications director for then-Representative Marsha Blackburn (R-TN). He began his career just after the 9/11 attacks in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs, later transitioning to the White House, where he led a communications outreach team working on the Iraq Surge.
Claude earned his undergraduate and master’s degrees at American University.
